March 7 - Nevertheless, Not My Will
March 7
Nevertheless, Not My Will
“Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke 22:42, KJV)
Reflection
Jesus shows leaders what surrender looks like under pressure. He does not pretend the cup is light. He acknowledges the weight—and then yields. Kingdom leadership is not built on stubborn determination alone; it is anchored in submission to the Father’s will. There are moments when plans stall, doors close, and outcomes disappoint. In those moments, maturity is revealed. You can resist, complain, or manipulate—or you can say, ‘Nevertheless.’ This word protects your heart from bitterness and your leadership from pride. Surrender is not weakness. It is disciplined trust.
Implementation Tip
Bring one unresolved issue before God today. Speak honestly about what you want. Then intentionally release control: ‘Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours.’ After praying, take the next obedient step without forcing results. Do not push conversations, overcorrect circumstances, or try to manufacture outcomes.
